Instructions for cleaning and caring for our furniture

General information

Bathroom furniture manufactured by us is suitable for a normal bathroom climate.

This only includes a short-term increase in humidity (relative humidity > 90%), provided that this can be released again afterwards through adequate ventilation. Any kind of moisture or wetness should be removed immediately with a dry cloth.

Swelling due to the effects of water on the material – particularly in the edge area of vanity units – is not recognised as a complaint.

Damage caused by improper installation, care or improper handling, in particular wet treatment, is therefore always excluded from the warranty.

Mineral cast washbasin

The regular cleaning of mineral cast surfaces can also be carried out here with a simple, damp to wet cloth. Normally, you only need lukewarm water to carry out regular cleaning. Soiling of any kind should be removed immediately; if this is not done, in most cases permanent stains will appear on the surface. You should take particular care with hair dye, make-up, nail varnish and various other cosmetic products, for example.

Please also ensure that you do not leave metal cans, such as hairspray cans, on the wet edge of the sink for too long, as this can lead to permanent rust stains. However, if you still notice that rust stains have formed, please clean them immediately, e.g. with an eraser. If this is not done immediately, it can lead to permanent stains. Therefore, if you have produced splash water, you should clean it dry immediately. This is the only way to ensure that no damage occurs to the edge of the pool and that no water can run down the side of the cabinet.

To maintain the high-gloss surface and the pearl effect, we recommend regular use of a commercially available, oil- and silicone-free car polish without abrasives.

Ceramic washbasin

Commercially available sanitary cleaners are suitable for cleaning ceramic washbasins. We recommend using Stahl Fix Classic to remove limescale or metal deposits.

Please ensure that no objects fall into the basin, as this could cause permanent damage to the basin!

In general

Any soiling that occurs should be removed immediately if possible, which usually avoids the use of cleaning agents. The best way to clean the surfaces is with a soft, damp cloth and lukewarm water. The surfaces should then be rubbed dry. If bathroom cleaners or other cleaning agents are used for cleaning, these should be water-soluble and correspond to standard household products.

Harsh liquid cleaners, nitro-based solutions and abrasive or scouring cleaning agents should never be used. Oil-based polishes with silicone, solvents or waxes are also unsuitable, as they can cause damage.

Handles / buttons

You can clean the handles and knobs with standard household cleaning agents and a soft, damp cloth. Please do not use any chrome cleaning agents or other aggressive or abrasive cleaners.

Plastic parts and mouldings

The drawers, insert trays and plastic profiles are best cleaned with a mild detergent and a damp cloth.
However, aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents should never be used.

Mirror surfaces

It is perfectly sufficient to clean mirror surfaces with a damp chamois leather. If the mirror surface is very dirty, you can use commercially available glass cleaners. The mirror surface and especially the edges should always be wiped dry immediately after cleaning in order to avoid coating defects.

Lacquered surfaces

The surface of the high-gloss lacquered surfaces consists of several layers of lacquer. This is protected by applying a special lacquer that is highly resistant and abrasion-proof. These should only be cleaned with standard household, water-soluble cleaning agents.

Always follow the relevant instructions for microfibre cloths, as these have a wide variety of surface structures and can cause damage to the fronts under certain circumstances. Also, do not use steam cleaners, as these could cause swelling damage to the furniture and thus destroy it.

You should not use aggressive or abrasive products or polishes containing silicone. It is always advisable to test the cleaning agents on an inconspicuous area before cleaning.

Melamine-coated surfaces

You should only use standard household and water-soluble cleaning agents for cleaning. It is best to clean coated surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and lukewarm water. The use of wet cloths can cause water to penetrate into joints and cause the surfaces to swell. After cleaning, the surface should be wiped dry immediately. You should never use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents, polishes containing silicone, waxes or steam cleaners. It is always advisable to test the cleaning agents on an inconspicuous area beforehand.

Solid wood surfaces

Wood is a working material with a natural colour structure and different grain patterns, which are generally beyond our warranty. Natural discolouration may occur on the surfaces as a result of different light and sunlight exposure. This therefore does not constitute grounds for complaint.

Wood is moved by different levels of humidity, so wood should not be exposed to extremely dry or extremely humid air. The usual air humidity of 45% to 70% is ideal for the processed wood. Sufficient ventilation should therefore be ensured, e.g. when showering.

The surfaces are protected by high-quality, multi-layer lacquers, making them largely resistant to soiling. They should therefore only be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth and lukewarm water.

It is advisable to always clean in the direction of the wood fibres and also to rub dry so that moisture residues in the profiles, corners and edges can be avoided.

Contamination must not be allowed to dry and must therefore always be removed immediately. Never use aggressive or abrasive products, polishes containing silicone, waxes or steam cleaners.

If you follow all these tips, you will enjoy your bathroom furniture for a long time.
